The Licensing Executives Society (U.S.A. & Canada), Inc. is a professional society comprised of over 5,000 members who are involved in the transfer, use, development, manufacture and marketing of intellectual property, including professionals in the field of law, academics, science government and the private sector. LES is a member society of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), which has a worldwide membership of close to 10,000 members in more than 25 national societies, representing over 80 countries.

Education

Les Nouvelles

Les Nouvelles is a leading technology transfer and licensing journal that is published quarterly by LES (USA and Canada) Inc. for LESI. Les Nouvelles includes articles on various licensing topics, upcoming LES and LESI meetings, and reports from member societies and committees.

Viewpoints

Viewpoints is LES's own bi-monthly newsletter, containing up-to-date information on LES programs and activities.

LES-SVC is the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society (U.S.A. & Canada), Inc. LES is a professional society comprised of over 4,700 members engaged in the transfer, use, development, manufacture and marketing of intellectual Property. The membership covers a wide range of professionals, including business executives, lawyers, licensing consultants, engineers, academicians, scientists and representatives of government.

Our Mission

The Mission of the Silicon Valley Chapter of LES is:

  • To facilitate the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and information on licensing and intellectual property.

  • To assist members in improving their skills and techniques in the practice of intellectual property licensing by delivering instructive and topical seminars and training courses.

  • To be the voice of our local licensing community in public and governmental affairs to monitor changes in the law and the practice of licensing and protecting intellectual property.

  • To further the objectives of the Licensing Executive Society.
